The illustrious history of our clan dates back to the begining of January 2004. I (Fozzie)was playing on the Holyland server and had been doing for a couple of months where I met and befriended two people early on, firstly Dirtstyle and secondly Flava, or should I say [HOLY]Flava{pvt}. Dirtstyle and Fozzie would laugh and joke about the attitude of some of the Holyland members, mainly JETT and decided to, as a joke set up a non-clan clan, where we didn't want to be a clan as such but something different, just to wind up JETT who constantly kicked us or changed it to rifles only without asking anyone, we messed around with names and rules until we came up with the name MORK (This name is still to this day a closely guarded secret with less than 4 people actually knowing its true meaning) and copying Holyland's tags we went in and began recruiting members at will on their server. We weren't nasty about this or degrading towards Holyland we did it as a joke but strangely the whole MORK thing began to take off and slowly we began to take shape. A lot of our original members are long gone but some still survive. As I recall Flava went on holiday to Florida with pumpkin (his wife) and came back a week later to find the server inundated with MORKS and after being a member of Holyland for less than two weeks he jumped ship to be in at the start with MORK something to this day I think he is glad he did. With the three of us at the helm we began to formulate a structure for the clan and what we wanted from it and at that point that Flave (As he had become known) and I hit our first problem. Dirtstyle disappeared. Literally from the face of the planet no amount of emailing or server searching heralded results and so we were 2 senior members and together we began to build the clan. At around this time we recruited the following players many of them are now fallen on the battlefield:
- Ccrash
- Masterkiller
- Lt. Garcia
- Regal
- Jerni
- Boydo
- Frantz
- Wooder
- Herr Flick
- Bart Simpson
- Bigglesworth
- War Pig
- Snowman
- Metal Masen
As I remember Masterkiller was our first recruit closely followed by Ccrash and for a time things ran quite smoothly. In fact we were up to over 30 members within a couple of weeks but then a crux came, like it does in any clan when they first set up we had to get a server. Holyland's patience was beginning to wear thin. On their second server there were more MORKs' than HOLYs' and we had to move quickly and Flave never to be one to let the grass grow under his feet along with Wooder decided to shout the first server at the same time a small war was breaking out within the fun loving new clan. Under the leadership of Jerni a groundswell of people were unhappy about rule changes that had to be implemented and they began to try to get others and set up a new clan. One of our first problems was paying for a server it seemed ridiculous that Wooder and Flave should foot the bill so people were now asked to contribute. This at the time was huge news in the clan and members began to fall away like flies but the three of us held out along with able help from the likes of Psycho Bob, Ccrash, Regal, Snowman, Frantz, Bhaal and Bart Simpson, but we lost in the region of 30% of our members in the space of days. We realised then that they weren't the kind of people we wanted, just freeloaders who wanted to play but not to pay. That is why we have a strict paying policy. Amongst the members we lost were:
- Jerni
- Masterkiller
- Paradawn
- Boydo
- Blindbat
- Metal Masen
- War Pig
- and countless others, who never returned...
From this point we could have crashed and burnt but we gathered pace and began to gain a decent reputation as an honest fun clan and along with Wooder's geeky'ness, I wanted to try everything on the server, which culminated in the VS-UK Total War mod being introduced in February which he had played in his pre-MORK time on {7thAD} server. This mod made us stand out from the crowd and we have progressed from strength to strength to the point we are at today. A solid based clan with good members and a good attitude where we are all friends and we all look out after each other.
MORK has had its ups and downs and lost friends and lost people along the way people we have fought with and fought beside we salute you all and never take the high ground like some who remain nameless.
Thanks guys and girls.
